Always attracted to found his own festival for chamber music, Claude realized it in 2012 with the Sylt Chamber Music Festival. Fascinated by the local landscape and sea, he saw the island as the perfect scenario for a festival where music and nature could match in the very best way.
Since then, he has invited friends from the international music world to the North Sea island for an intensive week of concerts in the middle of the Sylt summer. Over the course of six days, the festival plays from morning to night at a wide variety of venues, from the northern to the southern tip, from the western beach to the White Cliff. The festival has become an integral part of island life, attracting both islanders and guests from all over Germany. Always striving to develop the festival further, various activities take place throughout the year, cooperations with other festivals and guest concerts on the mainland, such as in the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.
Seit jeher gewillt, ein eigenes Festival für Kammermusik zu gründen, verwirklichte Claude dies 2012 mit dem Kammermusikfest Sylt. Fasziniert von der dortigen Landschaft und See, sah er in der Insel das perfekte Szenario für ein Festival, wo Musik und Natur sich in allerbester Weise verbinden können.
Seitdem lädt er Freunde aus der internationalen Musikwelt für eine intensive Konzertwoche mitten im Sylter Sommer auf die Nordseeinsel ein. In sechs Tagen bespielt das Festival von morgens bis abends die unterschiedlichsten Orte, von der Nord- zur Südspitze, vom Weststrand bis zum Weißen Kliff. Mittlerweile ist das Festival fester Bestandteil des Insellebens zieht sowohl Insulaner:innen als auch Gäste aus ganz Deutschland an. Stets bestrebt, das Festival weiterzuentwickeln, entstehen immer wieder verschiedene Aktivitäten während des Jahres, Kooperationen mit anderen Festivals sowie Gast-Konzerte auf dem Festland, wie in der Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.
